Frequently Asked Questions:

What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy (OT) is available for children, adults and the elderly. It is offered in a variety of different settings. Pediatric OT helps children to develop the skills required to perform their activities of daily living. These activities may include bathing, dressing, eating, playing and learning. Through creative therapeutic sessions children work to improve deficits in areas such as fine motor, gross motor, visual-perception, visual motor and sensory processing. The goal is to obtain maximum independence and optimal performance in all activities.

What is Physical Therapy?
Physical Therapy (PT) is available for children, adults and the elderly and is also offered in a variety of settings. Pediatric PT focuses on improving motor development including gross and fine motor skills, balance and coordination as well as ambulation. Through creative therapeutic sessions we work with children on increasing ROM, improving strength and endurance and increasing mobility. We also assess the need for orthotics, splints and braces and educate children and parents on the use of adaptive equipment. The goal is to obtain maximum independence and optimal performance in all activities.
